FAQs

Your questions, answered

If something is not here, ask us — the answer usually takes one message.

6 questions still need an answer. They are marked below. Each one is a commercial decision — a deposit percentage or a cancellation term — that has to be yours before it is published, because a client will hold you to whatever this page says. See src/data/faqs.ts.

Booking and planning

How far ahead should we book?

Not decided yet A realistic lead time for peak season versus quiet months. Say the number you can actually hold to.

What do you need from us to quote?

The event type, the date, the venue and a rough guest count. Those four are enough for a first figure — everything else can be decided later. A budget range helps us propose the right thing rather than the most expensive thing.

Do you work outside Kampala?

Not decided yet The districts you will travel to, and whether distance changes the price. We work across Uganda is easy to say and hard to honour at 3am in Gulu.

Will one person be responsible on the day?

Yes. The person who takes your brief is the person on site. Nothing is handed to a subcontractor you have never spoken to.

Can you work with vendors we have already booked?

Yes. If you already have a photographer, a caterer or a sound company, we coordinate with them rather than replacing them. Our own vendor network is there for the gaps.

Equipment and hire

Is the equipment yours, or do you subcontract it?

Ours. Tents, chairs, tables and décor are our own stock, delivered, installed and collected by us. Every item is checked when it comes back, which is why what arrives at your event is not what came back damaged from the last one.

What happens if something is damaged at our event?

Damaged items are charged at 30% of their value and lost items at 100%. Both are assessed on return against the condition the item went out in, and both appear as a line on your invoice rather than as a surprise afterwards.

Do you deliver and set up, or do we collect?

Not decided yet Whether collection is even an option, and what delivery costs. If it is delivery-only, say so — it is a simpler answer.

When do you deliver, and when do you collect?

Both are agreed as part of the booking and both are on the schedule you get, with a delivery window and a collection window rather than "on the day". Every booking in our system carries a dispatch date and a return date; there is no such thing as an open-ended hire.

Money

How much is a deposit, and when is the balance due?

Not decided yet The deposit percentage and the balance deadline. This is the single most-asked question and the one that most needs to be your decision, not ours.

Is VAT included in your quotes?

Quotes show VAT at 18% as its own line, so the figure you compare is the figure you pay. Nothing is folded into a subtotal.

How do we pay?

Not decided yet Mobile money, bank transfer, cash — and the account details for each. These belong on the invoice too, so they need to go into the system as well as the site.

Will we be reminded before a payment is due?

Yes, automatically — seven days before and again three days before. Every payment we receive is receipted, and each receipt carries a code you can use to verify what was recorded against it.

What if we cancel or postpone?

Not decided yet Cancellation terms, and whether a postponement moves the deposit. Worth writing down before you need it rather than during the conversation where somebody asks.
